After having some people over this weekend, I’ve come to realize that my dining area leaves something to be desired. My house is pretty small (about 1300 sqft) so having a grand dining room with an expansive table and sideboard as seen in various showhomes and interior design mags is out of the question. However, after spending some time perusing my favourite design sites, blogs and magazines, I’ve determined that I can still have a modern, beautiful dining room that reflects my personality without overwhelming what limited space I have.
These superbly designed dining spaces utilize natural light, scale and open-feeling furniture to control the flow and overall ambiance of the room. Colour me inspired.
